How to Add AI APIs to a Web App

2026-10-04 · CVRON API HUB

Adding AI to a web application does not require rebuilding the entire site. A small backend endpoint can validate requests, call an AI API, and return a controlled JSON response.

Recommended architecture

Browser → your backend → AI API is a common pattern when the upstream provider requires a secret. It also gives you one place for validation and rate limiting.

Frontend responsibilities

The browser should handle the interface, loading state, input limits, and display of the response. It should not contain private provider credentials.

Backend responsibilities

The backend validates input, authenticates users when necessary, calls the provider, handles errors, and returns a safe response.

Caching

For deterministic or repeated operations, caching can reduce unnecessary upstream calls. Do not cache sensitive responses without considering privacy.
